A Fall Festival of Epic Porportions!

On Saturday we held the first annual Al Beit Jr. Fall Festival. We had a blast. Now, usually the seniors host a fall festival at the school, but sadly this year it didn't happen, therefore we had to come up with something special for the middle schoolers. We had been planning it for about 2 weeks.

I can actually say I was surprised by the turn out. The place was packed with students, teachers, and the Al Beit Jr. volunteers! Most of the middle school students from grades 6-8 showed up to participate. I was over joyed when they continued telling me, "This is so much fun!" Glory to God.

So the evening was like this, Students were divided into teams of three. They had to go to each station to win points for their team. At each game station, each of the 3 players had a chance of getting points for their team. The winning team got fantastic prize of pieing the teacher of his/her choice in the face.Who did they pie?  PRINCIPAL TERRY RHODES!!

Popcorn relay
Basketball toss
Blow the ball
Ping pong toss
Cake Walk
Bowling
Apple Bobbing
Guess how many is in the jar
Mr. Barrett's Mysterious Maze

Barrett spent the entire day creating a box maze for the kids to crawl though. For most this was the first time that they had ever gone through a "life size" maze before. There were a variety of opinions of the maze. Some/most absolutely "loved" it, while some of the kids were a little scared to craw through such a small dark space. Each time I made my rounds checking on volunteers, there was a line at the maze. A-MAZING!!!

Students and teachers a like had a blast. It wouldn't have been possible without everyone who came out to give of their time and talents. We had people giving game ideas and running the games. We had lots of volunteers baking goodies for the cake walk. We had tons of sweets that we gave away! We had people show up and say, "Hey, where do you need me?" It was spectacular the ways people were helping.

Though that experience, I understand why the body of Christ is so important. They are there helping, encouraging, and uplifting. It was so great to know that it wasn't done alone, but with a great group of believers. I felt so overjoyed to have all those people there wanting to bless the kids. It truly was a great scene to have watched. God gets all glory for a successful weekend. To Him all glory, honor, and praise.
